@article { , title = {Intenção de permanência na organização: um constituinte ou consequente do comprometimento organizacional?}, abstract = {O desejo de permanecer na organização tem sido considerado ora um componente constituinte, ora um consequente do comprometimento organizacional. A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo testar a influência de variáveis atitudinais (bases afetiva e instrumental) e das intenções comportamentais de comprometimento organizacional sobre intenções de permanência na organização. Para testar as relações entre as variáveis da pesquisa foram selecionados 1.869 trabalhadores das regiões norte, nordeste e sul do Brasil, que responderam a um questionário com itens fechados. Os dados foram analisados utilizando-se procedimentos de regressão múltipla e modelagem de equações estruturais. Os resultados apontaram que: a) a medida de intenções de permanência na organização não pode ser predita significantemente por nenhuma das variáveis que compõem a base instrumental; b) a variável que prediz mais fortemente permanência é a base afetiva; e c) as intenções comportamentais de permanência na organização não são constituintes do comprometimento organizacional. The desire to remain in the organization has been considered either as a component of organizational commitment or its outcome. This research aimed to test the influence of both traditional attitudinal variables (affective and continuance basis) and the behavioral intentions to organizational commitment variable on the intention to stay. To test the relationships between these variables, we selected 1,869 workers in the north, northeast and southern Brazil, who filled out a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using multiple regression procedures and structural equation modeling. The results showed that: a) None of the variables constituting the continuance basis predict significantly the measure of intentions to stay, b) Affective basis is the strongest variable predicting the intentions to stay, and c) Behavioral intentions to remain in the organization is not an organizational commitment component.}, doi = {10.1590/s1413-294x2010000300010}, eissn = {1678-4669}, issn = {1413-294X}, issue = {3}, journal = {Estudos de Psicologia (Natal)}, pages = {299-307}, publicationstatus = {Published}, publisher = {Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte}, url = {https://hull-repository.worktribe.com/output/2004647}, volume = {15}, keyword = {Business and Logistics, Organizational commitment, Remain in the organization, Behavioral intentions, Basis of commitment, Structural equation modeling}, year = {2024}, author = {Bastos, Antonio Virgilio and Menezes, Igor Gomes} }
