Abstract

The first series of alkaline-earth palladium oxide - fluorides Ba2-xSrxPdO2F2 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1.5) display the T' structure (Nd2CuO4) instead of the predicted T structure (La2CuO4), showing that electronic factors prevail over steric factors.
