Visiting Lecturer in Philosophy

Biography I started philosophy at the University of Hertfordshire, and have studied or researched at the University of York and Concordia University, Montreal. I started teaching at Hull in 2018.

I am currently working on a project on public trust in collaboration with Maastricht University - if you'd like to hear about some of our questions and findings, there's a short video available (https://youtu.be/u1uIsNIazUo).

My previous projects have looked at atypical imagining and engagement with fiction. What do we do when we read books? What is the appropriate response to seeing images on a screen? If you're interested in the answers to these questions, you can hear an interview with me for University Radio York (https://ury.org.uk/podcasts/1201) .
Research Interests Aesthetics
Fiction and narratology
Imagination
Trust

I am also interested in pedagogy, the pedagogy of philosophy, and the philosophy of pedagogy. I promise these are all different things.
Teaching and Learning I teach two modules at the University of Hull:

God, Evil and the Meaning of Life (first year)
Moral Philosophy (second year)

I also supervise several dissertation students in the area of ethics and value.
