Research Interests

Historical and cultural geographies of urban dissent, protest, and resistance; geographies of communication and organisation during protest; the ways in which public space is constructed, policed, and contested; the commemoration of resistance and it's place in popular memory; protest stickers.

Biography Hannah Awcock is a historical and cultural geographer with a particular interest in resistance and dissent. She gained her BA, MA, and PhD from Royal Holloway, University of London. Before joining the University of Hull in 2019, Hannah taught at the University of Central Lancashire, Oxford Brookes University, and Royal Holloway. She is the events co-ordinator of the RGS-IBG Digital Geographies Research Group.
