Heidi Fewings

Lecturer in Nursing and associated programmes

Biography Heidi commenced her nurse training in the Royal Navy in 2000. During this time she worked predominately in Elective Orthopaedics, Trauma Orthopaedics and Plastics at Portsmouth Hospital and Haslar Military Hospital in Gosport.
After 6 years service she left and started working in Community School Nursing.
Heidi completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing) and quickly progressed to lead on clinical practice in Hull.
Heidi is passionate about vulnerable communities and much of her career has worked with vulnerable children and young people. She led and developed a team to support this community in Hull in 2014
Heidi is a qualified Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse and has completed a variety of training to complement her role in children and families services, including a Level 7 qualification in Systemic Family Therapy.
Heidi worked for a short period of time in North Yorkshire and also in the East Riding of Yorkshire in the Child and Adolescent mental Health Team (CAMHS).
Heidi registered as a qualified mentor in 2005 and Completed her Educator In Practice in 2016. She is an NMC Registered Teacher.
Heidi joined the University of Hull in 2019, teaching and supporting students across nursing and associated nursing programnmes.
