|Biography||Catherine has had a long and varied career in engineering, working both in industry and academia.
An initial BSc in Metallurgy led to several industry roles including failure analyst, and welding engineering consultant in the oil and gas industry.
A change in career direction resulted in a PhD in Medical Engineering at the University of Hull, initiating her 20 year academic career which combines medical engineering research with mechanical engineering teaching interests.
