Dr Catriona Jones

Biography Catriona Jones is a Registered Midwife (RM), and a Senior Lecturer in Maternal Mental Health in the Institute for Clinical and Applied Health Research, based in the Faculty of Health Sciences. As a clinical midwife she has worked for NHS Ayrshire and Arran, South Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, and Hull University Teaching Hospital. She has worked at the University since 2004 when she joined as a midwifery lecturer. She holds an honorary contract with the local NHS Trust. Her various roles at the University have included Programme Leader (Midwifery) [2006-2010], Deputy and Acting Lead Midwife for Education [2011-2012] , Research Assistant and Associate [2011 - 2014], Senior Research Fellow in Maternal and Reproductive Health [2014 - 2019] and Midwifery and Child Branch Departmental Research Lead [Ongoing]. Alongside the management and delivery of pre and post registration provision of perinatal mental health across the Faculty of Health Sciences, she has a defined research and publications portfolio in the area of maternal and reproductive health. Since 2008, she has seen many funded research projects through to successful completion in her role as Co-investigator and Principle Investigator. Catriona completed her PhD (Transcending sexualisation: a constructivist grounded theory of asexual self-identity) in 2019.
