David Bagchi

Senior Lecturer in Early Modern History and Ecclesiastical History/ Co-Director of the Andrew Marvell Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies.

Biography David Bagchi specialises in the history and thought of the Reformation, with a particular interest in the theology of Martin Luther, early modern religious polemic, and the use of the printing press for disseminating theological ideas.

His major publications include Luther's Earliest Opponents: Catholic Controversialists, 1518-25 (2nd ed., 2009) and The Cambridge Companion to Reformation Theology (2004) (co-edited with David C. Steinmetz).
