Christina Roggatz

Research Fellow

Biography Christina Roggatz is a research fellow in chemical ecology and computational modelling. Her research focuses on the effect of climate change on chemically mediated interactions of marine organisms and their functioning within ecosystems. She is particularly interested in unravelling the effects of pH at molecular level using a range of chemical analytical, biological and computational approaches.
Christina joined the Energy and Environment Institute in 2018, where she works on an EU-funded project and investigates compounds involved in biological interactions that are essential for sediment stability and their sensitivity to environmental conditions, such as pH and temperature.
She obtained her PhD from the University of Hull in 2017 for her interdisciplinary work on the effects of ocean acidification on peptide signalling cues in marine crustaceans.
