Biography I joined the Law School , as Reader and Head of School in 2022.
I gained my Law Degree from the University of Liverpool, going on to qualify as a Solicitor in 1990, moving on to different roles with the firms where I worked - from Commercial Real Estate, Contested Probate and Wealth Management - to all things litigation. Whilst working I also began teaching and throughout my career I have taught and/ or been involved in practice. In terms of teaching and Supervision I have led the delivery Private Client Law, Business and Commercial Law as well as Dispute resolution Clinical Legal Education as Supervisor and Leader, as well developing integrated skills and knowledge based courses.
My Philosophy in terms of Legal Education, is that the study should help to inform life decisions and sustain career direction and choices. Unusually, my Doctorate is one which focuses on Legal Education - specifically Clinical Legal Education , and its trials and challenges in its recognition in Higher Education. I have also trained as a Civil Mediator more recently.
My research interests focus on Digital Justice- linked to Dispute resolution approaches to address gaps in Access to Justice for Vulnerable and other groups.
