Biography I am a Process and Energy Systems Engineer professionally recognised (R.Eng) by the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and an Associate Member of IChemE. I am also a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. I worked as a Process Engineer at Notore Chemical Industries Ltd, Onne in Nigeria before moving to the UK in 2010. I hold a BEng qualification in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria; MSc in Process Systems Engineering from Cranfield University, UK and a PhD in Process and Energy Systems Engineering from the University of Hull, UK. I have also completed training in research (PGDip) at the University of Hull and in teaching and learning in HE (PGCert) at the University of Sheffield. I had 4 years + post-doctoral research experience at the University of Hull and the University of Sheffield.

My expertise is on the application of Process Systems Engineering approach for energy systems design, analysis and development. During my post-doctoral research training, I worked in different projects funded by NERC, EPSRC and EU Marie Curie with Prof Meihong Wang, a leading Professor in this field, for many years. I also worked directly with collaborators of Prof Wang from the University of Manchester, UK, Imperial College, London, University of Edinburgh, University of Newcastle, Université de Valenciennes, France, South East University, China and Tsinghua University, China to deliver different projects. The results from my work have been published in over 20 academic journals, 4 book chapters and several conferences and workshops (h-index = 12). I have also contributed to articles in the IChemE TCE magazine and editorials of top journals. A publication (Lazic et al., 2014), I co-authored, received the SAGE Publisher’s Best Paper Award in 2014 and the IMechE’s Ludwig Mond Award in 2014.
Research Interests My research involve development of new process designs, energy-efficient process flowsheeting, process modelling, simulation, control and optimization with focus on CO2 capture technologies, energy systems integration and the chemical industry.
