Abstract

The resolution of racemic secondary arylalkyl alcohols using pentafluorophenyl 2-phenylbutanoate and zinc chloride is discussed. The levels of enantiomeric recognition were high leading to enantiomerically enriched alcohols in good yield. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
