Abstract

This chapter considers preventive approaches to violence in young people's relationships that have emerged in the UK over the last 10 years.  In particular, we explore the evidence on preventive programmes delivered in schools and draw on two independent evaluations of such programmes to consider their achievements and the challenges they encounter.  Gender differences emerge as a key factor that needs to inform both the delivery of these programmes and their content.
