Glossary of British sea ice terms

Abstract

A glossary of Sea Ice Terms employed to describe sea ice conditions from 1821 to the present day. Definitions have been extracted and extrapolated from both direct source materials as indicated in the table, as well as from actual observations. Research was undertaken in conjunction with the Leverhulme funded ARCdoc project.
