Biography Charlotte is a Lecturer in Marine Conservation at the University of Hull. Her research covers a broad spectrum of marine conservation issues from the use of Marine Protected Areas to shark conservation. Charlotte is particularly interested in human perceptions of marine ecosystems and species and how understanding these perceptions can inform conservation efforts. Charlotte is part of the team at the University of Hull that leads the COAST-R Network Plus, funded by the UKRI and DEFRA under the Resilient Coastal Communities and Seas Programme.

Charlotte is the Lead of the University of Hull Ocean Literacy PhD cluster and is a supervisor on the University of Hull Rewild PhD Cluster, with a focus on rewilding the sea. Charlotte is also Co-Chair of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Ethics Committee, and a core member of the British Ecological Society English Policy Group. Charlotte is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research Interests Charlotte's research expertise is in marine conservation and management, particularly considering human interactions with the marine environment. Charlotte is also interested in shark conservation, Ocean Literacy, and sustainable fisheries management.
