Biography Dr Jamie Dodd is a Research Associate at the University of Hull’s International Fisheries Institute (HIFI), where he has worked since 2016, specialising in freshwater ecology, fish migration, and riverine connectivity.

Dr Dodd has developed a comprehensive portfolio in fisheries science, telemetry, and habitat restoration. His research focuses on the movement ecology of freshwater fishes, particularly with understanding behavioural responses to barriers, flow regimes, and habitat fragmentation. His work integrates advanced tracking technologies such as passive integrated transponder (PIT), acoustic, and radio telemetry to study fish passage and migration dynamics.

Dr Dodd maintains strong partnerships with industry, government stakeholders and trusts including the Environment Agency, Yorkshire Water, EDF, Natural England and multiple Rivers Trusts. Dr Dodd holds a Home Office licence for regulated procedures on fish and is experienced in a range of field methods from electrofishing to habitat surveys.
