Dr Julie Walabyeki
Biography | Julie Walabyeki is a research fellow, involved in the Yorkshire Cancer Research studies PEOPLE-Hull and WORKPLACE. She is also involved in the PRIORITY study: Cancer Care during COVID-19 (TRANSFORM); was involved in the Cancer Studies Yorkshire (CSY) -Yorkshire Cancer Research, Symptoms Awareness studies (1&2)-Cancer Research UK. She has medical training and RCT experience. Her interests include early diagnosis of cancer, smoking, infectious diseases (HIV/TB)and healthcare management-leadership. |

WORKPLACE study: Development of a lung health intervention in the WORKPLACE-TRANSFORM programme, a Fellowship funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. PRIORITY study: ExPeRIences Of canceR diagnostIc paThwaYs and care during the COVID-19 pandemic (TRANSFORM programme), funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. PhD Cluster: Exercise for Improving Cancer Treatment Efficacy (EspriT)-qualitative study, University of Hull (co-investigator) Reducing unplanned hospital admissions-Systematic Review (RUHAS-SR)-A systematic review examining reduced unplanned hospital admissions in adults with cancer; funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. Other studies Symptoms Awareness Study (SASS): Understanding cancer symptoms and healthcare interactions, funded by Cancer Research UK (researcher). Joint lead with Professor Una Macleod and researcher on SASS Phase 2: Age related aspects of help-seeking behaviour: a qualitative study exploring older people’s fatalistic attitudes towards ill health and dying, funded by Cancer Research UK. Reducing unplanned hospital admissions-Practitioner study (RUHAS-PS)-A qualitative study exploring the health professionals’ perspectives of unplanned hospital admissions in adults with active cancer in Yorkshire and the Humber; funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research. |
