Miss Leticia Couto
| Biography | Leticia Couto is a lecturer in the department of Criminology, Sociology and Policing. Her current research project, working in partnership with police forces, focuses on analysing police response to domestic abuse to better understand what victim-survivors want from service, and how their voices can be heard whilst also keeping them safe. Before starting her PhD, she completed her MSc in Criminology at the University of Porto (Portugal) with a dissertation about the costs of fear of crime. In her spare time, she volunteers at a domestic abuse support service. |

| Research Interests | Leticia’s current research areas focus on gender-based violence, policing (e.g., procedural justice, police trust) as well as the intersection of both themes (e.g., policing VAWG – violence against women and girls). Other research interests include fear of crime, costs of crime and situational crime prevention. |
