Quantitative Methodology, Positivist Philosophy and Disciplinary Subjectivity: Indigenisation of British Sociology and Lessons for Chinese Sociology

Abstract

英国社会学在本土化历程中形成了鲜明的反量化取向和通识学科定位，这影响了其学科风格。本文追溯了两个知识传统对这一学科风格的影响：一是英国本土知识传统——统计学传统，它以“不介入”的方式成为英国社会学的主要他者；另一是孔德的实证哲学和社会学观念，它成为二战前英国社会学的主导思想，为其涂抹上偏重社会理论研究的底色。二战后，英国社会学站在了“理论还是方法”的十字路口，并在20世纪60年代的高校扩张中把自己定位为通识学科，形成系统且偏执的反量化文化，并延续至今。基于此，本文回到费孝通关于扩展社会学传统界限的讨论，阐述了英国社会学风格的形成对中国社会学的三点启示。
