Abstract

A book review of Lukas Erne and Kareen Seidler's translation and edition of two early modern German plays, Der Bestrafte Brudermord and Romio und Julieta, adapted from Shakespeare's Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. The review contextualises the two plays with the performance practice of early modern English Comedians in central Europe.
