Abstract

[From the introduction:]
In this thesis we aim to achieve three main objectives. The first objective is to establish the technical basis underpinning the existence of interindustry linkages in the production of goods and services and its relationship to the Unbalanced Growth Hypothesis. The second objective is to consider the Unbalanced Growth Approach in the development planning of the Malaysian economy. The third aim of this thesis is to compare the measured interindustry linkages of the Malaysian economy with neighbouring Indonesia to highlight the similarities and differences in the structure of interindustry relations between the two countries.
