Abstract
Our primary motivation for editing a collection of this sort was to begin redressing what we saw as a serious deficit in the literature. Emerging from our collective experience of working with offenders and training criminal justice practitioners we have often been frustrated by the lack of coherent literature which brings together theretical and practical debates about how work with offenders is carried out. This text aims to bridge this gap, combining wider theoretical and contextual debates with more practice-orientated concerns. Our objective is that this book should become a critical reference text for practitioners, researchers and academics interested in addressing offending behaviour.
