Research Interests I'm interested in the development of sensors focusing on rapid and frequent sensing to better understand chemical concentrations in dynamic environments. In particular this involves development of paper based sensors that enable frequent measurements where needed, that could be undertaken by citizen scientists.

I also work on development of analytical methods (spectroscopy, chromatography, mass spectrometry) to analyse small molecules from complex matrices, with a focus on improving method sensitivity whilst minimising environmental impacts. Using these tools to answer question key environmental questions on contamination sources and pressures.
Teaching and Learning I am currently program director for undergraduate Biochemistry programs.

I teach courses within biological sciences, biochemistry and analytical chemistry. I also have student research projects within the area of environmental measurement science available for finalist BSc, integrated masters and taught master candidates.
