Dr David Jarvis

Research Interests David researches in to the concept of Human Right, and writes on difference, otherness and exclusion, as underlying the traditional views of rights. David also researches the Holocaust, and writes on the cyclicality of events that led to the Holocaust, and forecasts that society will inevitably repeat itself, the only variable is the identity of the victims.
Teaching and Learning Dr Jarvis teaches both undergraduate and post graduate modules.In more recent times David has re-writen the Introduction to Law Module for first year students, introducing students to the basic of law in England and Wales. Daid has also developed the teaching and presentation of the post graduae module on Regional Human Rights - moving away from the radditional approach of looking specifically at Treaties and Charters - to a more philosophcal understanding of the nature of rights in a 21st global community. Have rights become the problem rather than the solution - and what is the natre of the debate in relation to universalism and cultural relativity?
