Dr Richard Andrews

Biography Richard has worked at the University of Hull since 2007, initially at Scarborough and transferring to the Hull campus full time in 2017.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants who has worked in a variety of accounting roles both in the private sector and in education. Richard obtained an MSc in Finance from the University of Leicester. His PhD entitled 'Impairment of Assets: An Empirical Investigation' was obtained from the University of Hull.
Research Interests April 2004
I was awarded an ACCA research grant to produce a report considering the extent of asset impairment in FTSE 350 companies. This report was published as an ACCA research report in 2006.

April 2005 to 2013
I completed my PhD in the area of Financial Reporting. My thesis is entitled ‘Impairment of Assets: An Empirical Investigation’. This research is wide ranging and covers many aspects of financial reporting and asset impairment. I formally graduated in January 2014.

May 2006 to 2009
I have co-authored several books in the area of taxation.
