Professor Marie Reid
Professor/ Director of MSc Clinical Applications of Psychology/ Athena Swan lead for Psychology
|Biography||Professor Reid is a consultant clinical psychologist and health psychologist.
Her first degree was in modern languages and literature, and she became interested in psychology when she worked in Rome and found her students talked to her about their problems, as well as their language lessons.
She also translated for Dr Cesare de Silvestri, one of Italy's leading psychiatrists, who encouraged her to become a clinical psychologist.
Her PhD was on eating behaviour and she continues to specialise in that area, both for research and clinically.
