Biography Dr. Mamoon Bashir, a multi award winning academic, currently serves as the Graduate Research Director at Hull University Business School. With over 12 years of extensive academic and research experience within and beyond the United Kingdom, Dr. Bashir has garnered numerous accolades. Notably, he was honoured with the esteemed "Inspired in Hull Award 2022" in recognition of his remarkable contributions to enhancing the postgraduate student experience. His module, "International Trade and Global Logistics," achieved finalist status for the "Inspired in Hull Award 2023." In 2023, Dr Bashir was awarded the prestigious '40 under 40 Smart Bangladesh Award' by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh.

Dr. Bashir's expertise encompasses teaching modules such as Supply Chain Management, Global Logistics Management, and Operations Management. His research pursuits are centred around Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, and Digitalisation. He concurrently holds the role of Director of Post Graduate Admissions (Taught Programmes) at Hull University Business School and serves as the Co-Chair of the Faculty of Business Law and Politics (FBLP) Athena SWAN SAT.

Educationally, Dr. Bashir holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management and Digitalisation from Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. His academic journey also includes an M.Sc. in International Business Management from Aberystwyth University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practices (PCAP) from the University of Hull. He is also a Fellow of Advance HE (formerly known as the Higher Education Academy, UK). He has been awarded the Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE) by The Associations of Business Schools (CABS)

Beyond academia, Dr. Bashir is deeply engaged in the community. He serves as a Board of Governors (BoG) member at Stepney Primary School in Hull, England. Additionally, he holds an honourable position as a member of the International Advisory Board at the Canadian University of Bangladesh in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dr. Bashir recently concluded a significant endeavor funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This project, valued at GBP 40,000, aimed to disseminate scientific and technical knowledge to businesses, fostering environmental awareness through his role as the Principal Investigator (PI). His involvement in research extends to past collaborations as a Co-PI and RA on various funded projects. Notable among these are the BBSRC-funded 'Sparking Impact Project' and the British Academy-funded 'A cross country examination of supply chain barriers on market access for small and medium firms in India and UK.'

Before joining Hull, Dr. Bashir held pivotal roles, including Director of MBA & EMBA Programs and Director of International Affairs at the Canadian University of Bangladesh. He has also contributed significantly to academic institutions such as the University of East Anglia, Aberystwyth University, BRAC University, East West University, and Bangladesh University of Textiles. He further serves as a visiting Professor at Tashkent Institute of Finance in Uzbekistan.
Dr. Bashir's intellectual prowess is reflected in his publications within prestigious international peer-reviewed journals, including ABS 3*, ABDC A, and SCOPUS-indexed Q1 rating journals. He takes an active role as an Editor for the Archives of Business Administration and Management Journal (USA) and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Smart Cities and Advanced Technology (Europe). Additionally, he assumes the role of Acting Managing Director for the Journal for Worldwide Holistic Sustainable Development (Canada). Dr. Bashir contributes as a reviewer for esteemed journals such as the International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Production Planning and Control, Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and Qualitative Journal of Financial Management.

Beyond academia, Dr. Bashir is a dynamic presence in media. His insights as a supply chain expert have been featured on prominent platforms including ITV, Channel 5, Vikings FM (UK), Daily Star (Bangladesh), and The Prestige (Singapore). He is a sought-after keynote speaker, sharing his expertise at international events across the UK, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, India, and Bangladesh.
Research Interests Dr Mamoon's research is based centrally on issues related to Supply Chain Management, Digitalisation and Logistics Management. He welcomes PhD applications in these areas.
