Mrs Lucy Cowperthwaite

Biography	Lucy is an Adult Nurse, who joined the University in 2020 as a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice. Prior to this, Lucy worked in Perioperative care for a number of years, predominantly as Scrub Practitioner and Surgical First Assistant in Orthopaedic surgery, and Neuro Spinal surgery. She also worked as an Anaesthetic Nurse covering all specialities. Whilst working clinically Lucy worked as a Mentor and Advanced Mentor for Operating Department Practitioner Students, and Nursing students. Her Adult Nursing BSc Hons degree concluded with dissertation focus on practitioner lead airway management in the immediate post-operative period. Lucy leads on the Post-Operative and Post-Anaesthetic Care module at level 5, and the Fundamentals of Operating Department Practice module at level 4. Lucy is currently a committee member of the Access to Higher Education Committee for Certa.
