Ms Joanne Black
| Biography | Joanne is a HCPC registered dietitian and accredited to the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and Parenteral and Enteral Nutritional Group (PENG) of the BDA. Before joining the university as Programme Director, Joanne practiced as a clinical dietitian in the local NHS trust (HUTH) since graduating as a dietitian in 2009. She left her post as Education and Surgical Team Leader to follow her passion of education and training to establish and lead this exciting new programme at the University. Joanne specialised in enteral tube feeding and artificial nutrition support and improved the nutritional care of patients with neurological conditions and upper GI disorders. Since joining the University, Joanne has been successful in designing and developing the fit-for-purpose and inclusive curriculum for the MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics (pre-reg) programme, which she led through the professional accreditations from the British Dietetic Association and full approval of the Health and Care Professionals Council. She is considered a compassionate leader and is driven and motivated to ensure her peers and students can reach their full potential. Joanne is also the admissions lead (home and international) for the MSc in Nutrition and Dietetics programme, personal supervisor for dietetic learners and Academic Link Tutor for CHCP CIC and HUTH placements. |
