Miss Josey Coaten

Biography	Hi my name is Josey. I am a lecturer and the Programme Director for Advanced Clinical Practice MSc and Apprenticeship at the University of Hull. Since qualifying as an adult nurse in 2012 (with the University of Hull) I have worked within the primary care sector with a GP surgery in Hull. I returned to University of Hull in 2016 and qualified with a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and also received a Non medical Prescriber qualification. Therefore working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within the primary care setting (GP Surgery) for a number of years, gaining expert clinical knowledge within this field. I have gained significant skills within the Advanced Clinical Practice in which I am able to engage in knowledge exchange and inspire the future Advanced Clinical Practitioners. Throughout my clinical career I have gained special interests within women's health and are qualified to fit and remove contraceptive devices. Along side this I also gained a special interest in Palliative care and was part of a Primary care based palliative care team. Within the university I lead and teach on a range of modules across programmes and engage in curriculum development, the curriculum development engagement spans across the programmes I work within but also university wide as I sit as a panel member for the major and minor modification process within the university. I am also an external examiner and end point assessor across different higher education institutions.
