Biography Prof S K Tang obtained his BSc(Eng) from the Mechanical Engineering Department of The University of Hong Kong in 1987. He finished his PhD specializing in acoustics and fluid dynamics from the same department in 1992.
Prof Tang joined the Department of Building Services Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1993 and since then has been involved in teaching and research related to the built environment, environmental noise, building acoustics, signal processing and data analysis.
Prof Tang moved to The University of Hull in February 2022. He is the Director of the Acoustic Research Centre. His current research interests include energy-friendly silencing technology for flow duct applications and the related aeroacoustics, natural ventilation enabling noise insulation devices, energy harvesters, acoustic metamaterial applications and etc.
Prof Tang is the Editors-in-Chief of the journal Applied Acoustics and is also an associate editor of the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America.
