Biography	Manuel is a Visiting Professor in Online Education at the Teaching Excellence Academy at the University of Hull. He is an international technology expert promoting the advancement of learning and teaching in Higher Education, and regularly delivers thought leadership keynotes at international events. Manuel has over 20 years teaching, research and management experience as an academic, and has worked and collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams at public and private institutions across diverse global settings. His formal academic background in Linguistics and Modern Foreign Languages, together with a life-long interest in the use of technology led him to develop a career in the fields of Learning Enhancement, Technology Enhanced Learning, Distance, Blended and Distributed Learning. He is still an active researcher in the field of Cognitive Computing, exploring the affordances that Artificial Intelligence can bring into the learning process and the development of sophisticated automated learning simulations.
