Advance HE Aurora Leadership Programme
2024

Description Aurora is higher education's most renowned leadership development initiative for women. Run as a collaboration between Advance HE in conjunction with higher education institutions and advocates - known as Aurora Champions - it addresses the under-representation of women in leadership positions. Aurora is a leadership ignition journey, inspiring women to aspire and achieve leadership positions within higher education.

Launched in 2013, Aurora has grown year on year and is now a community of over 10,000 Aurorans. Led by a team of leadership experts and in conjunction with a mentoring process, participants will explore four key areas associated with leadership success: Identity, Impact & Voice; Core Leadership; Politics & Influence and Adaptive Leadership with two Action Learning Sets, a face-to-face day - Your Future in HE - and optional Networking sessions.

Advance HE Personal Development for External Examiners
2024

Description External examining is a key feature of the UK higher education system. This course has been developed as part of the Degree Standards project on external examining that has run from 2016 to 2021.

The overarching aim of the Personal Development for External Examiners course is to contribute to maintenance of degree standards and their reasonable comparability across the UK higher education systems by providing training for external examiners. This is the only training course for external examiners in the UK. It has been developed in collaboration with a range of HE providers.

PNA Expert Involvement Group
2024

Description Group member invited by Coventry University to participate in a group meeting to share my insights regarding a new study titled, SUSTAIN-ING (2024). This study builds on the national evaluation undertaken in 2022/23 to understand the impact of Professional Nurse Advocates (PNAs) undertaking quality improvement work and the impact of this on patient outcomes and patient experience.

The purpose of the expert involvement group is to draw upon the expertise of regional and PNA network leads to help the study team shape the research questions/design for the proposed study questionnaire and organisational case studies.

MSc Healthcare Leadership Leading People and Developing their Resilience - a two day conference

The conference will explore the connections and impact of leadership on creating resilient people by bringing together some high profile successful systems leaders who have faced the challenges of leading complex organisations whilst maintaining and supporting resilience in their teams. The conference will also explore some practical strategies to support staff, students, and patients in how this can be done and looking at the impact of this work.
