Project Description
The Healthy Mind Healthy You Programme is a five-step education program with two key objectives;
1) Early Intervention - Tackle mental-ill health by encouraging students to think about their mental health and reduce mental illness by equipping students with the knowledge and strategies to grow and develop good mental health and wellbeing.
2) Reduce the stigma often associated with mental illness. Rugby League plays an important role in our local community and our players are seen as role models within the areas they reside. Through Hull KR players sharing their own personal stories around Mental Health and Mental Illness, students will learn coping strategies, and can be empowered to speak out without feeling ashamed, seek help, and help others by starting the conversation, ARE YOU OK?
The research will seek to explore perceptions of the impact of engaging with the programme on students, their families and teachers using qualitative methods.
