Project Description

The NE Lincolnshire palliative care research team has been developing over the past year and has been successful in being involved in two portfolio adopted studies which have recruited to (one of which we recruited over 50% more than average). The team is new to research in palliative care, but are very keen to develop their skills and offer research opportunities to patients. We want to participate in research projects to give patients options and the very best care. Furthermore, many patients want to opportunity to participate in clinical studies. However we have the capacity to recruit more patients to existing trials, with future potential for NE Lincolnshire to set up as a level 4 site with other local sites (such as Scunthorpe and Louth) feeding in participants. As we are developing the infrastructure for palliative care research to take part here as it has only just started happening, we expect it to take 2 years before we are fully independent.
