Project Description
This 30 month study will;
1) To understand the experience of social care assistants providing end of life care, the care they give, how they work with healthcare staff and family members or friends, and what all involved (including the person receiving care) think they need to provide best care.
2) To see how current local and national guidance for service funders and managers helps – or not - support social carers to provide best end of life home-care.
3) To produce recommendations for home-care worker education and training for end-of-life care (we will assess who this is for, what to include and how it is provided), and to produce a training module for social carers on end of life care.
4) To produce ways to include and support social carers in the wider care team to stop isolation and burn-out.
