Project Description

Research into most effective application of newly developed digital engagement tools in schools: Help Callum/Help Sali 360 videos, using hotspot technology and a pilot lesson plan.

· Creation of set of new learning resources for schools, co-produced with teachers and students to accompany the Help Callum/Help Sali VR videos. These resources to focus on:

o identifying the key issues teachers/students want to know about flooding;

o providing information on what to do in preparation and during flooding;

o exploring what young people can do to learn to live with flood risk and how they can be part of the solution.

· Through co-creating the content with teachers, we will ensure the resources map into the National Curriculum and will identify links within the resources and opportunities for further learning.

· Explore with teachers what more they want from these resources and how they can use them within their teaching practice. The collaborations between the Environment Agency, Universities of Hull and Lancaster and school networks will shape development plans for further engagement tools and related resources.

· Research the impact of these resources on teachers and students with the aim of better understanding and working towards the wider goal of incorporating flood education into all schools.
