Project Description
Women are still severely underrepresented in engineering professions, despite growing skills shortages and ambitious gender targets as highlighted in the recently published ‘Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Engineering’ report by the AURA team in collaboration with SUPERGEN ORE. With the aim to inspire a non-typical target audience to aspire to a STEM career, ‘Turning the Tide’ explores & translates facts about the role of women in the renewable energy sector into a creative, performance-based film and podcast for exhibition. It also forms part of collaborating artist Freddie Garland’s national project ‘Women’s movement 100 – Angels of the North’ (https://womensmovement100.co.uk).
