Dr Mohammed Ismail m.s.ismail@hull.ac.uk
Senior Lecturer - Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies

Project Description

To model the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and relate cell voltage behavior to parameters like pressure, temperature, gas diffusion layer morphology, platinum type, ionomer molecular structure, mechanisms at cathode and effect of organic impurities like toluene and metal contaminants. A rigorous mathematical model would be developed involving effects of geometry, diffusion, adsorption, detailed kinetics, desorption and transport theory across carbon composites and polymeric materials.
