Efficiency of viral vector manufacturing for gene therapies
Voelzmann-(Hull) addresses the efficiency of viral vector production for gene therapies, specifically rAAVs. The C-Trap will be used to study the mechanisms and dynamics of DNA incorporation into pre-assembled rAAV capsids at the single-molecule level. Real-time tracking of ssDNA insertion into AAVs will provide vital detail on translocation steps, speed, pauses, and the energetics of the process3,4. This will contribute to the understanding of DNA pumping and viral self-assembly, along with future implications for improving gene therapy manufacturing in clinical settings.
