Project Description

Building on the success of previous interdisciplinary humanities-led projects which have worked with communities to share knowledges of cultural and environmental change in watery spaces (AHRC Risky Cities; ESRC White Rose Fellowship Arts, Heritage & Liveability; NERC Arts, Culture, Community and Climate Resilience; NERC Risky Cities Digital Twin) this HIKE project intends to extend independent research impact for ECRs who have a proven track record in conducting and publishing research on past experiences of living in challenging watery landscapes.
To do so, this project will build on and extend the impact of this research by working alongside new communities and stakeholders on Hull, East Riding, and Humberside sharing our research, gathering new stories, memories and objects. In doing so, we will invite local people into the process of co-producing place-based history and heritage for their area.
