Project Description

This is a collaboration between the Faculty of Arts, Cultures, and Education and Faculty of Health, and a registered Hull charity P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery. The aim of the project is to support learners in Hull to understand the importance of brain health and benefits to wellbeing. The multifaceted nature of ‘wellness’ will be explored through ‘Brain Boards’ educating learners about 14 specific wellness aspects e.g., communication, healthy diet and hydration, and emotions. Brain Boards are currently installed in 17 schools in the city, accessible to learners aged 4 to 18 (primary and secondary settings, pupil referral and alternative provision). Educational plans and resources will be co-developed with teachers alongside education and nutritional experts from the university. Knowledge about brain health and wellness will be integrated into teachers plans to complement content in the national curriculum.
