Project Description
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are now integral to society, and it’s vital young people learn about them. Even if they are not end-users, their data will be used by AI in the future, if not already. AI and ML are being used for automatic classification: seismic signals can be classified into those from our dynamic Earth to those generated by traffic or industry on the Humber. We ask for funds to purchase a seismograph and to fund on-campus AI seismology workshops for A-level learners, to raise awareness of AI, seismology and STEM and AI at the university.
