Project Description
The Rutherford Fund Strategic Partner (RFSP) Grant is to strengthen, enhance and develop, existing Hull Japanese research partnerships in themed areas across energy and the marine environment. Building from existing collaborations, two eligible early career academics with potential to become internationally leading researchers have been identified with the support of their respective institutes. Research in energy and the marine environment conducted at Hull supporting the regional development of the nascent offshore renewable energy (ORE) industry in the Humber Estuary and North Sea.
Research into ORE through Aura (a consortium of university, industries and government). Through Aura programme of fundamental and applied research are building a vibrant and successful ORE industry for the UK. East Asia is an emerging market for ORE, therefore the development of sustainable international research links to Japan, via the RFSP Grant will facilitate and expedite the University of Hull’s global impact by optimizing the export of ORE innovation, research, expertise and knowledge.
