Project Description

Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship to host Professor Tim Beers (University of Notre Dame) for 6 months in 2019-20; we will use a combination of proprietary experimental data for large samples of carbon-enhanced metal-poor stars in the Milky Way's halo and our unique in-house expertise in understanding the nucleosynthesis of elements and isotopes which have, to date, perplexed physicists and chemists. Powerful insights into the efficacy of the CEMP-i process to explain these isotopes will be the hallmark of this Visiting Professorship. Professor Beers is one of the most decorated scientists in the world.
