Abstract

A transformation has gradually been taking place in health-related research over the last twenty-five years. The synergistic interaction between information technology (IT), biomedical knowledge and genetic engineering revolutions has led to an information explosion in the healthcare field and irrevocable changes in the very nature of healthcare processes. In the light of these challenges, the objective of this paper is to examine the feasibility of incorporating the Knowledge Management (KM) paradigm in healthcare. © The Journal on Information Technology in Healthcare.
