Project Title The Impacts of Wind Turbine Associated Noise on Marine Invertebrates
Project Description Using vibration associated with installation and operation of turbines, we assess the behavioural, metabolic and physiological responses to vibration at different levels. This study uses the hermit crab (a species with a known sensitivity threshold), to determine the effects in the short- and the long-term.

Project Title Does food availability impact fecundity of the grey seal?
Project Description Using sandeel landings data, I compared the potential for competition between sandeel landings per year, and associated mortality among grey seal pups within the same year. Using lasers, we estimated the size of the cow and correlated that to pup size. We found that cow size did influence pup size within each age category, and that there was a strong correlation between increased sandeel landings and more pup mortality between 1973 - present day.
