Mrs Rebecca Chester

Biography Rebecca works with trainees on all of the Teacher Training programmes, developing relationships with partner schools across the region.

She was appointed as a permanent member of the Faculty as Partnership Area Tutor in September 2014, following on from work as an external tutor whilst working as a full time Teacher. This enabled Rebecca to build on the links she had previously developed with schools.

Rebecca leads a module on the BA Primary Teaching programme, looking closely at issues in the primary school setting. This involves bringing in guest speakers from local schools to share their experiences. Rebecca also teaches on BA Primary Teaching Studies, supporting students through their journey to becoming an educator.

She graduated from the University of Hull in 2005 with a first class Honours degree in Professional Studies in Primary Education, with ICT and was awarded the title of Fellow of the HEA in January 2020. Rebecca also completed her Masters study in 2024, researching the relationships between school based mentors and trainee teachers, with a focus on what enables student teachers to build a sense of belonging whilst they are on their school placement.
