Andrew King

Professor of Music and Technology/ Head of School

Biography Professor King is the Head of the School of the Arts since 2017 and a Principle Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He previously led the music subject area and has led major research projects funded by AHRC, the Arts Council, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation (via PRSF, Sound and Music) in the areas of online music education, psychological wellbeing and evaluating the impact of composer residencies.

Between 2009 and 2013, he was Deputy Dean then Associate Principal of the University's Scarborough Campus. He has acted as external examiner at a number of universities and is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Music, Technology and Education.
