Biography | Ben is our Programme Director. He joined the University of Hull in September 2020 after completing his PhD at the University of Salford. His thesis was titled "The role of infrared thermal imaging in the assessment of chronic midportion Achilles tendinopathy". Ben is a Fellow of Advance HE. Ben has extensive industry experience, having worked in professional and semi-professional rugby union for over a decade, as well as other sports. He utilises this experience by teaching on some of our clinical modules. Ben is also a level 3 Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport practitioner and is an instructor in pre-hospital care for the RFU. Ben was integral in setting up the student-led HIP-Hub clinic and has successfully managed to create graduate employment opportunities as part of this. Ben is currently supervising both PhD and Master's level students, with projects focusing on neurocognition and performance as well as concussion and pitchside extrication of athletes with suspected neck injuries, in conjunction with World Rugby. |
